The Clery Act of 1990 requires all colleges that participate in federal financial aid programs to disclose to students, prospective students, parents and employees information about crimes committed on campus and campus security procedures. The Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act (Campus SaVE Act) is a 2013 amendment to the Clery Act and requires colleges to increase transparency about the scope of sexual violence on campus, guarantee victims enhanced rights, provide for standards in institutional conduct proceedings, and provide campus community wide prevention educational programming.
