Emily Griffith Technical College recently hired Gideon Geisel as the dean of the College of Trades, Industry and Professional Studies. In this role, Geisel will oversee all trades and industry programs at the college, working with stakeholders at the school to ensure they are providing students with various opportunities for job placement after they complete their program, engaging with employers to make sure opportunities are available and working with industry to identify new opportunities.
“We are excited to have Gideon on our instructional leadership team,” said Randy Johnson, executive director of Emily Griffith. “His experience at the high school level will help us reimagine how we can connect with high school students to ensure they know about concurrent enrollment opportunities during high school and opportunities at Emily Griffith after graduation.”
Geisel comes to Emily Griffith from George Washington High School where he was assistant principal for the previous eleven years. He has nearly 15 years of experience in education as a teacher and administrator. “It’s important to me to bring a K-12 perspective to recruitment because we need to ensure we are intentionally advising young people of the programs and opportunities that exist at Emily Griffith,” said Geisel. “There are so many opportunities for students who may not need to go into debt to achieve their personal and professional goals.
Geisel is a Colorado native, born in Pueblo. He attended Jacksonville University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management; attended Interhisapanica/Saten Ramona in Buenos Aires, Argentina for Spanish fluency and fashion design instruction; attended Metropolitan State University for his Colorado Accelerated Special Education Licensure; and attended the University of Denver for his principal license and master’s in educational leadership.
