Partnerships are a cornerstone of Emily Griffith Technical College. In an effort to recognize their partners who go above and beyond, the school just launched a new Partner of the Quarter Award program, honoring a different partner each quarter that has made an important impact on the school and students. The first award recipient is Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain (IECRM). IEC Rocky Mountain is currently Emily Griffith’s largest partnership with 1,953 apprentices who were registered for fall. Additionally, the staff at IECRM has been extremely supportive of the school throughout COVID-19.
“Partnerships are one of the most important aspects of Emily Griffith because they allow us to work closely with a variety of organizations to provide new opportunities for our students,” said Randy Johnson, executive director at Emily Griffith Technical College. “The award program will help us strengthen existing relationships, and provide an opportunity to highlight the important work that we do together as community partners.”
“We are pleased to announce that the first Partner of the Quarter is Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain,” said Lulu Lantzy, Director of Innovation and Partnerships. “As a dedicated partner, they have received the award because of the significant number of students they impact, their support of Emily Griffith through COVID-19, and because they continue to go above and beyond to support our staff and students.”
Honorees are chosen based on criteria such as commitment to hiring Emily Griffith students and graduates, contributions to the student learning experience and mentorship, and commitment to staff and faculty development, among others. Winners of the newly minted Partner of the Quarter Award will be announced quarterly in June, September and December of 2021.
