You’ve gained the technical skills at Emily Griffith – now gain the expertise to lead your industry. The Entrepreneurship Studies program is designed for Emily Griffith graduates who have earned their certificate to transition from employee to self-employed business owner.

The core of this program is the capstone course, Writing a Business Plan (SBM 2189). You won’t just learn theory; you will develop a professional, finance-ready business plan. This comprehensive plan is designed to meet the requirements of lenders and investors, giving you a clear roadmap to secure funding and open your doors with confidence.

As part of this program, students will receive 3 hours of professional advising services.

Certificate of completion from an Emily Griffith Career and Technical Education (CTE) program or Emily Griffith Registered Apprenticeship.

To qualify for the Entrepreneurship studies program, you need to be an Emily Griffith student that has graduated from a Career and Technical Educational or Registered Apprenticeship program.

The Entrepreneurship Studies program is a fast-track program that is 3 months long, and on a part-time evening schedule that takes place Monday and Wednesdays from 5 – 9 PM, with asynchronous online course content. This program will help you learn legal aspects and record keeping, marketing your brand, financing, and writing a business plan designed to meet the requirements of lenders and investors. As part of the program capstone of writing your business plan, you will get professional 1-on-1 advising with small business industry experts. You will get three hours of professional advising that occurs during the program, or after program completion.

You will learn core principles of marketing, social media and search engine optimization to make your business and brand stand out.

No, you do not need to be a “Math person” to take the Entrepreneurship Studies program, but you will learn the principles of financial statements, job costing, and expense tracking to help manage your business.

The core of our program is helping you build a finance-ready business plan. This document is what banks and lenders require to approve small business loans. You will also receive 1-on-1 professional advising to ensure your plan meets small business industry standards.

The capstone component of the business plan will culminate in a presentation to industry professionals, providing an opportunity to receive valuable feedback. All students will also receive 1:1 advising with professional industry experts which can occur during or after the program.

This course is designed for Emily Griffith students who have completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. More cohorts will be added throughout the year to allow students time to sign up upon graduating from their CTE program.

After a survey was conducted across Emily Griffith graduates in CTE programs, 70% of respondents identified entrepreneurship training and businesses start-up support would be beneficial. Hence, this program was born to help Emily Griffith graduates start a business of their own.

This program is designed for Emily Griffith Graduates that have completed a Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Registered Apprentice program. This class also offers classes part-time in the evening allowing flexibility for working adults. Emily Griffith is also partnering with professional industry organizations so students can receive professional advising on their business plan and prepare for the next step of their career.
