The Barbering program includes coursework in treatment of hair and scalp: shampooing, hair cutting, hair styling, shaving, hair coloring, permanent waving and chemical relaxers, facial massage and treatments, sanitation procedures, salon management, laws, rules and regulations. Training is the combination of theory and clinical training achieved through a practical setting with students working on clients in Emily's Barber Shop.
Students completing the program will be prepared to take the Colorado State License Examination. For students returning to Emily Griffith Technical College, or transferring from another school, in order to complete the program, if the initial start date for the program was five years ago or more, only 25% of credit earned will be accepted.
Evening classes coming in Fall 2015.
